Description That's right! I haz Spring Fluttershy, my first pony! I'm a man now!

It's kinda strange how she has flowers on her legs and her cutie mark is only on one flank instead of both.... but oh well.

The hair is kind of a hassle, but it's best taken care of as if it is your own hair. Don't let it get dirty, keep it away from heated areas, and it can be washed and styled to your liking. I'm still figuring some of this stuff out as this is my first toy that actually has doll hair, but is helping me.

I'll be getting more, you can bet on that!

yeah, but it was still to hard to take care of so I cut it off and made her with custom sculpted hair.Β  This was done 3 years ago btw.

I washed the hair with Damage control Shampoo ( it works well on fake hair)

I hear if you use boiling water to style the hair, it lasts a lot longer.

Oh, you going to buy the plastic hair eh!? I'm a little hesitant because I hate having to cut off all the hair already there.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AleximusPrime In reply to BlackWidower [2011-09-13 18:02:29 +0000 UTC]

I already did, I'm gonna make some sculpted hair out of Fluttershy (done) and Rarity and Rainbow Dash along with the CMC.

BlackWidower In reply to AleximusPrime [2011-09-13 18:33:43 +0000 UTC]

You already cut the hair, and you're going to make plastic hair? Oh, I thought you were going to buy otakusquirrel's plastic hair. After all, why rebuild the wheel.

AleximusPrime In reply to BlackWidower [2011-09-13 18:55:58 +0000 UTC]

Well, I am kinda doing what they're doing, but I'm not using plastic, I'm using sculpey clay like they use for the first base sculpt. They are much better at sculpting them though.

"It's kinda strange how she has flowers on her legs and her cutie mark is only on one flank instead of both.... but oh well."

About the flowers on her leg it's because this is a special edition, but the original one doesn't have that.
And about the mark on only one side, that sucks
they do that with new MLP but on old ones ( 1983 until 19997 ) They used to have it on both !
That was better and logic as in the cartoon they have it on both.
I really have no idea why they changed this detail, which is important

AleximusPrime In reply to lucile [2011-08-18 17:38:23 +0000 UTC]

I took care of the flowers in my custom, but I should also paint her a second cutie mark.

When i was younger the ponies i grew up with ( G3) had only one cutie mark on one side so i thought it was kinda weird that it was on both sides. even with the gewl ponies as i look back now its really weird

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AleximusPrime In reply to Avipii [2011-06-19 04:32:14 +0000 UTC]

Are you talking about the toyline or show? And did they still have 2 cutie marks in the previous shows?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Avipii In reply to AleximusPrime [2011-06-19 04:36:39 +0000 UTC]

Im talking about the toyline
im not sure personally i was more into the actuall toys then the show ( i didnt know they had one) when i was looking it up though i watched some clips on it and they only had one cutie marks.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AleximusPrime In reply to Avipii [2011-06-19 04:39:02 +0000 UTC]

Ah. Geez, the toyline really isn't as detailed as the show after all!

And you've seen "Friendship is Magic" right?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Avipii In reply to AleximusPrime [2011-06-19 04:43:48 +0000 UTC]

um yea the whole season one C: how hard was it to find that fluttershy i mean i cant find one anywhere i can only find rarity and the not accurate rainbow dashes.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AleximusPrime In reply to Avipii [2011-06-19 04:48:18 +0000 UTC]

Ah, good. It's such a great show!

Yeah, that's the problem is most of the toys are very inaccurate. Having a Fluttershy or Rarity of the ones with brushable hair though kinda makes sense cuz their hair already looks like that, but Rainbow Dash is totally inaccurate! That's why I wanna make a custom fig of her where I give her sculpted hair like the ones in that 5 character gift set I just got.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Avipii In reply to AleximusPrime [2011-06-19 04:51:35 +0000 UTC]

lucky right now targets out of stock of it i found a brush able flutershy with set and apple jack with set those two are in but the gift set is out. i already stated to my family that if i get a rainbow dash im altering g it to my liking

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AleximusPrime In reply to Avipii [2011-06-19 04:53:11 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I think I could do pretty good with a custom sculpt of Dash, I am pretty good with sculpting, but this time I'd have to paint the hair, using different colors probably wouldn't be too great of an idea...

Hasbro has gotten really cheap when it comes to the hip symbols (I call them symbols because that’s what I used to call them as a kid. The term β€˜cutie mark’ only came about recently.). The 80s ponies (G1) have them on both sides, but the newer ones don’t, sadly. This was a disappointment when I started getting the G3 ones. I’m just assuming that it’s because of cost.

When brushing pony hair, use a human brush and not the little old plastic thing that comes with the pony. Believe me, it works better. And be careful not to brush the tail hard or it may pop out (I’ve had this happen to some of my childhood ponies). It can be put back in, although the washer that holds it will rattle around inside and the tail will be loose in the hole.

If you have any pony questions, feel free to ask. I’ve been collecting them for years.

AleximusPrime In reply to WindChimeGhost [2011-05-18 05:52:37 +0000 UTC]

Oh, well that's a shame. But it's not that big of a deal for me, I can deal with them just having one, just so long as they at least HAVE a cutie mark.

Oh.......this is helpful info. Is a comb better or a brush?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

WindChimeGhost In reply to AleximusPrime [2011-05-19 04:43:54 +0000 UTC]

Same here. It was disappointing at first, but I’ve gotten used to it. I do have to say they look better with the mark being on both sides, but yeah... for some reason Hasbro doesn’t want to do it anymore.

To me a brush works better than a comb. If there’s ever a small tangle the comb can snag and pull hair out. I mean, a brush can do that too, but a comb is worse.

AleximusPrime In reply to WindChimeGhost [2011-05-19 05:00:29 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, but oh well. Do you have any G4 ponies yet?

I see..... well, the only brush I have is my brush and my hair is already in it and I would hate to get my hair in their hair...

I have 4 so far: Twilight, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy (the regular one, not the spring one like you have), and a McDonald’s Pinkie Pie I found at the flea market.

I have one now. I don't know what to do with the hair.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AleximusPrime In reply to ElliotxClaris [2011-05-16 00:56:12 +0000 UTC]

What I do is comb it to get rid of any tiny knots or hairs stuck together. The hair is then straightened but it's kinda not together, so I take it between my fingers and pull it out and kinda twist it in my fingers during the pulling (if I want the pony to have a bit of a curl) and then let go and repeat the process until the hair looks nice...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ElliotxClaris In reply to AleximusPrime [2011-05-16 01:02:11 +0000 UTC]

I'll try. I hope I didn't comb to hard. When I first combed it looked like I did it a little hard.

AleximusPrime In reply to ElliotxClaris [2011-05-16 01:10:30 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, dont' be too aggressive. You can also wash their hair in water, but be sure to let it dry and also keep the hair out of heated areas.

Well you can always try washing it. I haven't done that yet, but it is recommended. You should look up some tutorials...
