Description
This was a mediocre landing at best.The escape capsule scorched at least 60 feet of the beach, before coming to a halt, grinded down by the rocky shore in a cacophony of screeching noises and bursts of unexplained fires.
Only after a few minutes of burning and screaming, I've managed to twist the hatch open and crawl out.
Darkness. The sand rustled beneath my hands.
They will come soon. They must have detected my fall! According to the manual, this was a clean, well-colonized world.
I tore off my blackened helmet and inhaled the semi-fresh sea air, preparing myself for a sight of the marvelous civilization before me.
As my eyes adjusted to the blinding sun, I’ve almost screamed in fear.
A colossal structure, entrenched somewhere between sand and water loomed over me, stretched to the horizon... as if ready to swallow me up, in its metallic fury.
The wind whooshed between its teeth, catching on to the metallic beams, swaying and snapping cables, as if playing a giant, broken violin.
Thousands of birds, fluttered over the rusting bones of the mechanical monster.
Their cries reverberated in the distance.
More dead monoliths, rising up above the swirling, mist covered mountains.
A scrap yard of civilization.
What the hell happened to them?!
As the sun started to fade into the horizon, I was quickly beginning to loose hope…

Your level of detail is huge!
I also really like the use of colour and how you use that to make the picture fit together as a whole.
I'm sure you already know this, but if you want some constructive critique, continue reading:
There is one flaw that I notice. You seem to have two very diferent techniques when painting (on the computer, right?), one where you smudge the colours out, very much like when one paints an oil painting, and one where you pinpoint detail with minimal brushes. I'm not sure if this is how you do it, but the result remains the same: There is a fissure between the two levels of detail. If you look at the water, and then move your view upwards, towards the clouds or mountains or what it is (sorry, can't really tell) you see that the sea carries lovely detail, along with much of the rest of the picture, but at the clouds above it, one can clearly see the size of brush you used to smudge the colours out, and this makes the picture look sloppy.
Now, I'm not half as good at actually creating art as you, but what I'd recomend is that you spend just a little more time and detail even on those areas that might not seem to need it, just to tie it together with the picture and avoid the obviousness of technique that clouds up the actual vision behind it.
I know this comment seems like a lot of whining and little compliments, but that's part intentional, because I'm sure you already know the great level of creativity that you are actually on. Also, I don't write this long comments unless someone asks for critique, or I really like the picture or artist.
Keep on going, and you'll become truly great.
