I'm honestly surprised that the Death Korps of Krieg even need a Commissar. I mean, these guys are literally made to be mindless, emotionless tools of war. What do they need a motivational speaker slash summary executioner for?

I believe in this occasion the Commisars actually prevent the Death Korps to be completley anihilated, as in they stop them from mindlessly charging at the enemy unless completley necessary. When a Commisar is the voice of reason in your group you know those guys are F*CKING CRAZY.

I'd think a Krieg Commissar would just summarily execute himself for not showing enough devotion to the Emperor.Β

I've seen a whole lot of people claim this image as their own, but very few properly claim that it's actually an Armageddon Steel Legion Commissar, which it is. Krieg doesn't paint their faces, helmets and facemasks skull white. Only Armageddon Steel Legion does that.

actually, Krieg grenadiers wear masks that look a bit like a Skull.

I must say, the Death Krops of Krieg Commissars are quite likely my single most favorite thing in ALL of 40k. Seriously, NOTHING matches their sheer badassery. This picture depicts their awesomeness splendidly.

It's a shame Forge World prices their Kriegsman minis too damn high. I mean seriously these [link] are fucking-A but they cost Β£37, yet I almost think it's worth it due to the sheer badassery the Death Korps displays.
