Description "With a wheezing rattle the closet door creaked open, waking me from sleep. As I gained my senses I found the silence much more unsettling than the presence before me."

You've been watching a lot of creepypasta vids lately, haven't you..
To be honest, this one struck me less, much less than your other recent horror paintings, due to the background, which somehow failed to immediately tell that it is a closet it's coming out of. I had to see the clothes hanging in fullview to really be sure about it, the rest look s like it could be caskets in a regular crypt as well, which actually would make it a rather standard piece. The fog on the ground even supported that impression.
Sorry to critique you, dude, you're a master, especially when compared to my own art, but that's how the piece worked with me at first glance, so I wanted ya to have the info on it.

Β Reading a lot of Ligotti and Lovecraft, as well as a perusing the usual subreddits Thanks for the critique! It means a lot! The lack of clothes and distinguishable 'closet' items such as shoe boxes, mismatched hangers, lots of shirts hanging from the racks has bothered me since posting too, hearing it vocalized by somebody else really hammers it home. I'm currently repainting a lot of these for a published volume so I'll take your words into mind when taking another pass at this one! Thanks!

Oooh, H.P.
You might actually be up to the task making his material really creepy instead of just classic. Don't get me wrong, Lovecraft's awesome, but I never found his stories to be super spooky, actually.
Looking forward on the book!!!

P.S.: And I never use multiple exclamation marks.

I really love the mood in this painting! I really like the texture of the ceiling and how you used such minimal texture, brushstrokes and lighting to get a great focal point. So simple but I know from too much experience its hard has heck to pull off. I could go on to what I love about this but my comment could go on forever. The description really sets the mood as well.Β

Do you plan on selling prints of this or any of your series?Β

My first reaction was "NOOOOOPE!" Love this, it's so macabre and creepy, I love it. Can see it as a villain in a great horror game. Beautiful.
