lol no worries man just keep practicing and you will eventually get there! i am still experimenting with different robot drawing techniques at the moment but i'll try do a small tutorial some time in the future

nope, i blocked in the overall shape with grey and then did the line drawing and color, everything done on Photoshop

I'm curious about the "crackle" effect toward the bottom of the picture, since it seems a bit "off-plane" from the rest of the picture. Is that some sort of brush effect?

oh you are right about the crackle thing, it is one of the brushes and i forgot to fit it to perspective afterward. i'll be more careful next time, thx for bringing that up!

It still works, to my mind, as a sketchy "visual short-hand" to break things up a bit. Don't let that cut into my unchanged opinion that this mecha design is AWESOME.
