After the success of Super Mario Strikers on the GameCube and Mario Strikers Charged on the Wii, the same studio: Next Level Games planned to a new Mario sports game called Super Mario Spikers which would have been a volleyball/wrestling hybrid game. But, unfortunately, it was cancelled because Nintendo thought that some of the elements of the game were too violent.
