I'm gonna give an idea to why she has high heels on her leg prosthetics so people stop whining about it. For leg prosthetics that are for runners they are like thin blades and the heel part is raised and maybe for fighting she needs the stability to step back and parry or dodge so the heel gives her extra stability. Pic to show what I'm talking about: www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/multime…

I wish female warriors weren't always so sexualized. Why can't they have normal, practical armour and normal boots (no heels).

I just want to say THANK YOU because I keep clicking on hypersexualized female warriors hoping to find at least one comment pointing out how ridiculous it is, but I never find any. Whenever I do it, I get so much shit.

I'll accept the idea that she did not put on all of her armor but I cannot accept high heeled combat boots.

Many armors have an exposed upper thigh. This is why you see leather strips or skirts (such as Roman legionaries) to protect the upper thigh and groin regions. If the thigh armor were much higher, it would impede mobility.

True, however we don't know the material composition of the neck armor. It may be a thin piece of leather or nylon that fits to the form of the neck. The way its drawn though, I would have to agree with you that it looks like it would keep the head pretty stationary.

And chafe... Armor that is uncomfortable to wear offers zero protection because it gets left on the shelf.

crimsonrhallic In reply to tandaolong [2014-01-31 16:33:29 +0000 UTC]
That is very true. It is a part of the calculation for the overall protection of modern armor (Kevlar vests, riot shields, nylon helmets, and so forth). Weight, heat, balance, chaffing (material), ease to equip, style (yes, people are vane) are all factors for armor design. Armor that has partial protection is significantly better than armor that you don't wear ("gets left on the shelf") due to any or all of these factors.
