Now, oceanpearl was an easy one for me to visualize; the bones and cartilage in the back legs would just liquefy a bit, reforming into a hard exoskeleton, no biggie. The legs are still there, they're just bone-less and therefore can curl up inside the shell.

Goldenwing ended up being much tougher. Theoretically, arguing that the potion just added mass into a new set of limbs might have been alright, but there's literally no room left for the muscles necessary to make the wings work. The second set of forelegs has already taken up most of the room we'd normally use for wing muscles along the shoulders. Either that or the muscles would have to attach to both legs, which would cause a weird stutter in wing beats when the two sets of shoulders shifted independently.

Also, I have a bit of a vendetta against feathered wings, since an animal as massive as a horse would need something like a seventy foot wingspan to even think about getting off the ground. (I appease myself by saying that part of the wing mass is taken from the bones, making them hollow and therefore not causing too much of a shift in mass as the wings are grown.)

But this theory would hardly work on Rapture, who is a bit on the lighter side since the second set of forelegs' mass is partially stolen from her own body, but still is carrying around extra weight to begin with. It made more sense in my head that the second set of forelegs would actually turn into the "arms" of the wings, since they had the mass and some of the muscle for it already. Obviously this calls for a massive shift of muscle structure along her shoulders in particular to allow for "up and down" movement, but at least I'm not shoving even more limbs onto her.

The bat/dragon build of the wings is deliberate since it allows for greater lift. I stick by the theory that the mass for the wing flaps comes from her bones, so she actually doesn't gain much weight under this potion.

Her hooves gain an extra extension, which functions as the "finger" the edge of the wing is attached to. As much as I like the wyvern front-arms-are-wings style, it seemed weird to give a horse "fingers" and by extension the ability to grip things.

The base of the tail elongates to give room for the stabilizing wing flaps. I might draw a spread-wing version of this if anyone's really curious.

TL;DR: Tried to keep sliiiiightly close to real anatomy and physics. I'm not sure why I tried so hard since I'll probably never draw her with the potion again, but it was a good test of my skill, plus I like pushing potion boundaries. She should be pretty flexible and fast in air, and the "hooves" can still function as a third pair of legs or stay off the ground if that's preferred, so ground mobility isn't impacted at all.
