These concepts are inspired by Andrew Jones' technique which involves creating random abstract shapes in zbrush(using their 2d tools), then touched up in painter, and further edited in photoshop. It's really amazing how quick these can turn out when following Andrew's technique...you can get the demo for ten bucks here: [link]check it out!....( it helps to have zbrush though, so try and borrow someones!

Hello. I'm having trouble trying to replicate this technique. I couldn't see the settings in the Insomnia video and he's using an older version of Zbrush. I can't seem to get the "S" shape I imported to bend like that (I've also tried the arrow Alpha). It just tiles the S. I've tried all seven of the Deco brushes and played around with the settings for Brush, Alpha, and Stroke. I'm using Quick Sketch without Projection Master and no Zadd. I'm wondering if you've tried this technique with Zbrush 4 and what settings to use for Brush, Alpha, or Stroke. Thank you!

the andrew jones thumb generation technique is awesome, just tried it myself. I'll work on better ones like these once I quit learning more of zbrush, the armor and weapons design idea mentioned near the end is a perfect application.

These are amazing, wow. I use Zbrush for my displacement maps on my 3D models, but I never thought of using it for something like this! amazing job

fantastic components. yeah I have seen a documentary of the Massive Blacks 'Insomnia' workshop.Andrew Jones was doing a workshop there that was similar to what you mentioned. awesome idea. I like it alot ;]
