Description
OH SNAP, OH SHIZ, IT'S MAH BIRDMAN BACK IN ACTION (after like 1 whole week wow) WITH A NEW COAT OF PAINT! And some missing parts but ya know ssssh it's fine.
Forte 2.0 is a separate entity from his Labyrinth reflection . THAT Forte is exclusive to the OCT, and will still be used until the wrap up of our Spectator Entry/the end of the tournament itself. THIS Forte is for the future storylines I will be crafting in the rozenich world which will NOT be associated with Labyrinth in any way. These are two different Fortes if that makes sense! Their personalities/behavior/bios are different as well, even if mostly minor.
That being said, if depictions of Forte are to be drawn WITHIN Labyrinth specifically PLEASE USE HIS ORIGINAL REFERENCE! If he is to be drawn OUTSIDE of Labyrinth, please refer to THIS sheet! Thanks~
Also LAST Forte art for awhile I promise LOL His time to shine will pause until the SE entry starts up. xD

Infodump ahead:
Nicknames: “Forty”, "Fort", “Dumb Dying Rozenich” (Kinsey only)
Species: Rozenich
Gender: Male
Age: Adult (human equivalent 40-ish)
Height: 5 feet 8 inches
Weight: 140~ lbs.
Personality:
Forte is an intelligent, well-spoken rozenich who often comes off snobbish upon first impressions. He is not one to joke around or, honestly, act happy at all in front of strangers or those he distrusts. From an outsider’s perspective, he just looks miserable, stand-offish, and proud of himself, albeit still behaving politely. Once his shell is broken through, however, he is respectable and much more pleasant. Passionate for problem-solving, he’s eager to help when asked (although one must ask, he is not fond of volunteering without permission, not because he doesn’t want to but more-so because he fears he will simply get in the way). When someone is close to him, he will make plenty of snide remarks or jokes, although sometimes he can take them too far and is unaware when he hurts people’s feelings when doing so. He will be swift to apologize if brought up; he tends to carry guilt otherwise. His biggest flaw is his lack of self-confidence. Often, his prideful boasting is simply a cracked facade.
Bio:
Born into a clan from across the mountains, it was clear at an early age Forte was abnormal. While he was a typical chick at first, he gradually became weaker as he aged. Constantly falling victim to illness, the tribe struggled to care for him, and he was abandoned just shy of adolescent during annual migration. Taken in by a nomadic tribe that found him, Forte was taken care of, even with equal struggle, up until his accident. Brutally mauled by a predator, he was handed over to the local kurri-monitored tribe, as they knew they had the resources to save him, which they did. Although it took time for him to come around, he is a well-respected and well cared for permanent member; Forte has lived in the tribe ever since. Third time’s the charm.
Eversleep:
Forte suffers from an autoimmune disease similar to lupus that the rozenich call “Eversleep”. This leaves him physically tired and weakened. The disease is accompanied by various side effects, including periodic bouts of pain when exerting energy, weakened muscles (especially in his legs), Raynaud’s syndrome (hands and feet get cold and numb easily), and he is susceptible to common illnesses (viruses, infection, etc.). As a result, Forte cannot properly engage in typical rozenich behaviors such as manual hunting, climbing, or running. He can do all of these things, but not at the full strength a rozenich of his kind would. He endures various medical trials from the kurri in attempts to cure or maintain his illness, and some days they work better than others. There can be times his Eversleep is hardly present in his behavior, but it will never truly escape him.
While his kurri, Kinsey, often calls him his "dumb dying Rozenich", he is far from death at this point: he merely acts like it on hard days.
Blindness & Missing Hand:
Because his accident occurred just shy after entering adulthood, Forte has spent most of his life now without his hand or eye, and as such he has adapted to it. He can see well out of his remaining eye, but his left side is still considered a strong weak spot, and everyone knows to avoid approaching him from that angle unless they want to accidentally get bit in the face by a startled rozenich. The missing hand, while taking away some dexterity, has not caused Forte much problem regarding crafting or surviving. His prosthetic hand can do most of what he needs if his teeth or feet can’t make up for it. While the kurri have tried equipping Forte with a bionic prosthetic, he feels it is strangely unnatural and would rather have the manual powered hooks instead. That, and daily rozenich life is much too cumbersome for bionics, which require too much maintenance for him to have the patience with.
He removes the prosthetic after use/when sleeping and may sometimes go without it all day if he doesn't feel it useful. He is missing his entire hand and a small portion of his forearm. The prosthetic works via a cable and a demonstration can be seen here: [link] (His harness, however, is based on a different prosthetic type I found, with some small liberties taken)
Other:
Forte is the McGuyver of rozenich. He can craft just about anything from little material presented to him.
His favorite things to craft are prey traps. He can devise practically every kind of live or kill trap for any creature: big, small, or sapient.
Forte also breeds several small species of native fauna (buggies). While initially doing so just to test his traps, his farming of the creatures provides ample trading supplies for him. Want a small pet? He's got you. Want a snack? Grab a handful. Need bait for larger prey? Gotcha covered. These are ant-farm styled setups, meaning they are not considered livestock. Most are small, insect-sized with the biggest he has graduated to being no bigger than a crab.
Because he cannot engage in much physical activity, he often acts as babysitter for the tribe’s young. While he won’t admit it, it’s evident he enjoys this job and has a fondness for children. Dad Forte is canon.
Forte may often be sought for advice regarding rozenich suffering similar ailments as his own. He may particularly be given responsibility for tutoring young chicks born with physical issues that need help adjusting.
Likes:
Being helpful

Cuddling/snuggling (secretly!)
Dislikes:
Filth or messiness (and being dirty)
Being bossed around
Oversleeping
Misc. Facts:
He has been given many assigned kurri over the years, and his current one, Kinsey, is a pain in the ass and the two bicker almost constantly. They are often seen with each other due to Kinsey having to monitor him for his research.
Forte is demisexual. Specifically, this means (unlike most rozenich) he has little to no interest in engaging in sexual activities and only finds others attractive if he grows to share a bond with them.
Forte speaks eloquently and formally. Sometimes he will throw out a show-offy dictionary term or phrase that'll make you scratch your head, but usually it is at least understandable, even if a touch fancy.
I forgot who suggested it, but shout out to the user who suggested "Eversleep" as the disease name! I will not claim I came up with it LOL
Relationships:
Kinsey : It is more than obvious Forte and his kurri’s personalities are constantly clashing. Both want to believe they are in the right and have an obsession with control, leading to arguments on the daily. Despite all this, after being assigned for a lengthy period, the two have figured out how to deal with and avoid provocation. This has lead the two to understand one another on some level, and ignoring all the negatives, they do consider each other friends. Kinsey has been with Forte during many of his medication trials and has helped him get through some hard times with it. Later on, Kinsey dedicates his research to Forte’s Eversleep in an attempt to find a cure for his friend’s affliction.
Linda : Forte is currently engaged in a polyamorous relationship with Linda. While he himself is not poly, he is perfectly fine with the situation (it is, after all, not atypical rozenich behavior). Linda was one of the first rozenich to accept Forte and help him transition into the new tribe, and was vital to encouraging and keeping up his mental health after his accident. In a way, he owes his life to her. The two are very smitten, and it is very normal to see Forte completely flip personalities the moment she comes near. That is not to say she doesn’t get on his nerves, but he is considerably more tolerant of her actions than to anyone else.
Harlie: While the two share a lot in common (both are fairly smart, have no-nonsense personalities, and are both tired all the time even if for different reasons) they tend to avoid each other. It's evident there is some sort of jealousy flaring with Harlie towards Forte, though the latter does not fully understand why. If both are forced to work together, it rarely ends well as they both have a tendency to want to be in the right and can never come to an agreement. If speaking casually, they can carry on some good conversations, it is merely a rare situation.
Picard: Declared enemies for the literal dumbest reason. Forte and Picard know absolutely nothing about one another and never plan to. Picard just likes to bully him because he can. A scrawny, weak rozenich himself, Picard takes pride in being able to push Forte around for no reason other than asserting a very pointless dominance. The two can't be within range of one another without being monitored. If Forte had lunch money it would be stolen regularly.
Stone: A large, strong kurri that is considered less-than-bright by her peers has filled Forte's cold heart with kindness and warmth. They are friends in the purest way and Forte goes out of his way to make sure she is doing alright and is being respected. If there's rumors she's being talked badly about or treated poorly? Forte's gonna complain. No one hurts kind Stone friend.
Chasse : She's scary. So very scary. Avoid, Avoid, Avoid!
Sphinx: A bite-sized pain in Forte's neck, the young rozenich is always causing trouble with his thieving ways. Whether he's swiping Forte's bug colonies, his traps, his tools, or his prosthesis parts the little dude it never NOT up to mischief. At the same time, the two's wacky antics ultimately create a bond and Sphinx eventually becomes an unofficial Forte son. Not that Forte really wants that, but you can't argue with the Great Egg's will, now can you?
[More will be added]
Storylines:
Forte was used originally, alongside Kinsey, in Labyrinth-OCT where he passed to Round 4! After the conclusion of the labyrinth storyline (still pending) that version of Forte will be retired and further usages of him will not reflect Labyrinth canon. In plain terms, this means Labyrinth!Forte was/is his own thing. In regular canon universe, his story in Labyrinth did not ever happen unless you want to pretend it was all just one crazy fever dream!
Character History:
Forte’s very first conception was as a rozenich version of Arpeggio from Sly 2: Band of Thieves for an event on the Sly Cooper Amino. Upon hearing Labyrinth OCT’s in-story prize for winning was immortality (which was what Arpeggio sought after) I turned that concept into a character and entered him in! Throughout the time in the OCT, he morphed into his own character until eventually becoming one of the lineup. It’s still fun to call him Bootleg Arpeggio, though.
