Description
What had started out as little more than a trick of the light when heβd been a child had evolved into visions so convincing and far-reaching he could no longer contain them as a grown man. Swathed in a cloak embroidered with dampening spells and armed with golden cuffs etched with channeling runes, Fal still couldnβt pull the illusions back completely.
Those who looked upon him saw an endless parade of faces masking his true self. Heβd learned to hide beneath the hood of his cloak. Those who dared to step into his watery illusions found themselves drowning on dry land. For the safety of his people, heβd learned to keep his distance.
Everywhere he went, the world changed, right along with him. Fal had never spoken an untruth in his life. But when his own people looked upon him, all they saw was a lie. And so theyβd dubbed him the Prince of Deceit.
