Right off the bat, I do not like this movie. BUT I did watch it with a some kids I was babysitting for and the thing that bothered me the most was Flint's design. More specifically the character designs in general. I decided to try to do a redesign which is just personally more appealing.

The main thing I noticed with the visual comedy in the movie is the lack of contrast. Flint is always making an extreme face. Huge smile, huge eyes. So why is it funny when he makes a face which is just bigger smile and bigger eyes? It just looked to me like a style that was trying way too hard to be original and funny but ended up looking rather awkward.

Some changes I made:
I lowered the smile mass a bit to increase the contrast when Flint gasps or yells. I also changed the face shape to be a bit more appealing.
I added a few tufts of hair that are singed at the ends to kind of give off the vibe that he's always up to trouble.
I shrunk the size of his coat. I liked the idea that he's still wearing the same coat that was given to him when he was a little kid (except kid sized coat in my version) to emphasize him man-child-ness.
I changed his shirt to say "I heart science" because I thought that was kind of cute lol.
If I had drawn the hands I would have shortened the fingers. I don't know what they were thinking when they made the fingers twice as long as the hands but personally I didn't like it.

If you like this movie and or the character designs, awesome! I'm super glad there's a movie you can sit down and watch by yourself or with your family and have a good laugh. This is just my personal opinion and I hope you like the revisions I made and respect my view points as I respect yours.
