You have no idea how bloody long this took me, even with references. AND HER HEAD STILL DOESN'T LOOK LIKE IT'S ON RIGHT AUGH.Liara from Mass Effect. I will never finish this game because I keep breaking off to draw. *sigh*

Finally for my first time ever, I romanced Liara in Mass Effect 1. I've only had the game for 2 years, but I now plan to take her to Mass Effect 3. I might romance Miranda again in Mass Effect 2, so I can get the rare scenes in Mass Effect 3.

I agree, I think you might think it looks off because of the lack of ears. You *could* exaggerate the front-most ridge on her neck to create a contrast to the jawβ¦but this is pretty damn gorgeous. Wonderfully done down to the smallest *fans* depressionsβ¦

Looks like a perfect front on of liara to me, I think the main reason you seem to have your doubts is that froma frontal view, you can't see the ears of the asari. Its easy to get caught up in what you see wrong with the picture, especially as the artist, but there is nothing you need to improve. the trick is knowing when you've got enough detail

If i ever managed to get my hands on the incredibly sexy liara (or a woman that was willing to dress as a asari for me) I would do everything in my power to make her eyes turn black and make her tentrils stand on end.....

Before I pass out from the nosebleed, i'd like to comment I don't see anything wrong with the head. Even looking from afar, the proportions are perfect. And is going to favorites!!

I looked it up, and I think that you may have the neck a bit too wide. In the videos I could find the neck looks narrower than the jaw.

I don't play that type of game, I personally tend to find them boring... so I have no clue who she is. But does she have ears in your reference photo? If so, you aren't showing them here, and that might be part of why the head looks funny to you...
I had that impression myself at first, but the more I look at it the more it looks just fine, like her head is slightly ducked and her shoulders are thrown back. It's a lovely piece that you should be proud of, especially the translucence and texture of the skin. Maybe this is one of those pieces that, as artists, we get so nervous about that we keep seeing mistakes (even after we've fixed them). Everyone has one, and that piece tends to be one of our best.... so don't worry so much, you're doing really well!

Like I said, I don't play that one. But if they don't have ears, that would definitely explain the feeling of off-ness at first glance, since we're used to using ears as position gauges for human faces. Again, the more I look, the less it feels odd. It's a good piece.
