MAN this took ages to do! I had to cheat a little on the tank that she's standing on because I can't draw machines at all. And then I ended up cropping it so you can barely see any tank anyway. *sigh*
Anyways, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out in the end, except for...you know what, I'm not even gonna draw attention to the thing that bothers me because otherwise people will just really focus on it. Like I am now. AUGH.

Great work! I think you really captured Olivier's sort or regal badassness she has. I think the tank looks great, drawing mechanical things is hard for me too I would have done the same thing. It's different from her standing on the wall of Fort Briggs.

simply gorgeous. She's one of my favorite characters in the manga. The only concrit I really have would be that her eye looks a bit up and out on her face. But other than that, totally awesome!
A quick question if you don't mind me asking:
Is there a particular brush you use when digitally painting in this style? Or is it smudge tool? I've been trying to figure out that painted-look for ages and have yet to figure out the secret

Thanks! I'm glad you like it.
As for the painty sort of look - I block out the colours and shadows first quite roughly and then I use a hard-edged smudge tool to blend them. There's sort of more to it than that, but that's all I can really think of at the moment.
It's trial and error, really! Sorry I couldn't be of more help!

I was the same way, but it just takes practice I swear. Seriously, if you look at some of the really old stuff in my gallery, you can see how bad I used to be. And hopefully I'll get better in the future too!
