Reason: they both are old and the main leader (or at least Sandaime was before he died)

This week we have the old men xD. The 3rd Hokage, Leader of Konoha, and the 1st Division Captain, Leader of the Gotei 13.
Sandaime was a nice old men. He was one of the few characters who at the beginning didn't judge Naruto for his inner demon. Though I admit Naruto sometimes gave him a big headache xD. I believe he also took care of Naruto, directly or not. He was also the one who Itachi trusted, so nothing would happen to Sasuke when he left the village. I liked Sandaime, he had a nice personality and a cool fighting style, and for being the Hokage, he was obviously very strong. Too bad he had to die for using that Shinigami tecnique...
Yamamoto is a scary old man. I would definetly not stand in his way. He's always so serious, and he's so strong. He seems to have a bad humour all the time. But he's stylish. The way he killed that big monster so easily, while a bunch of lieutenants weren't even capable of scratching that monster, it was damn awesome. He's not a tolerant person, and he respects the rules, and he's not tolerant to the ones who don't follow the rules. So I really think he is a scary man.
Those two have completely different personality. One has a more soft heart, and he's nice, and he protects the ones from his village, following the will of fire. The other is serious, definately not nice, he seems capable of killing someone from his side, if they don't obey the rules. But they are both very strong and Leaders (and old xD).

Sandaime was more caring of his village and its residents as individuals. Yama was a stern, impersonal, and unforgiving leader. I like them both, but I'd rather work under the Third.

they are alot alike though unlike Yamamoto,age had greatly diminished most of Sandaime's strength,still even with that diminished strength,he was still very powerful.enough to take on a senior captain level foe(Orochimaru) and able to hold his own against Orochimaru and two former Hokage without losing his composure even when he wasn't even in his prime.having defeated all foes that came before him until he sacrificed himself in order to stop Orochimaru.
still unless he's at his prime,he wouldn't be able to hold his own against Genryūsai's full power.Being one of the oldest members of Soul Society, Yamamoto possesses an exceedingly powerful Reiatsu, capable of making other captain level Shinigami of Kyōraku and Ukitake's caliber sweat in fear and paralyses Lieutenant Nanao Ise with a simple look. This later caused her to faint, and she had to be taken a safe distance away, by Shunsui, from the Captain General simply to regain her ability to breathe.Even Aizen openly acknowledges Yamamoto's power being vastly superior to his own spiritual power. Yamamoto states that the reason why he has been able to serve as the Captain-Commander of the Gotei 13 for over 1,000 years is because there hasn't been a Shinigami stronger than him born in all that time. Yamamoto's spiritual power has the same effect as his Zanpakutō, as it is the elemental representative of fire. He tends to glow with a fiery aura which has the potential to burn and set his surroundings on fire without the use of his Zanpakutō.
the only ninja alive in the Naruto world that can take on Yamamoto at his a game is the Fourth Raikage. his chakra level is comparable to that of a tailed beast,only A was able to deflect the Eight-Tails. He was also able to cut through one of the four horns of Eight-Tailed Giant Ox when it was being subdued thirty years prior with his physical strength and Lightning Release Armor. His speed in his lighting armot state is greatly increased, to the point that it was mentioned by C that the Raikage's nervous system and reaction speed becomes comparable to that of the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze.

Yamamoto scares me too. I don't think they would fight, Sandaime is too peaceful and Yamamoto seems to only fight when he has to... So I think they would have a cup of tea xD
