Description
I felt that if I showed myself as an "angry woman" (for the simple fact of speaking out loud),
I would come across as hyperemotional, irrational, "passionate", or even hysterical.
Women are told that they are 'crazy', 'irrational', even 'diabolical' (...)
Sadness, pessimism, withdrawal Anger is also often associated in women with sadness,
two emotions that are fundamentally different, although both can be felt at the same time.
"We find it entirely normal for men to demonstrate anger.
We expect it. But when women experience a negative emotion, it must manifest as sadness."
One of the underlying problems is that sadness is often associated with pessimism and withdrawal,
while anger is linked to approaching others and optimism.
Angry, we want to make our voice heard and shake things up.
Which makes it an instrument of power.
