Description
In my attempt to move on from doing fairies, I thought I would try my hand at yet another kind of mythical creature. While at a carving show, the inspiration to do a mermaid came right to mind and so I did a search to find some nice looking mermaids and was drawn to this lovely artists' site, Selina Fenech and was stunned by all her amazing work. Moreover, when I came across her Moon Mermaid I knew I had to give it a try. It had all the elements that I love to draw or look at, with its curves and flows...

I was discouraged quite a bit while trying to burn this. I fought with her face for the longest time, her expression came out in a more annoying, or perhaps angry appearance than what the original image depicts and was NOT intentional. I felt that it had ruined the picture...and almost gave up...but everyone that saw it still seemed to like it and so I decided to keep at it. From the very beginning I knew exactly what colors I wanted and so this end result is VERY pleasing to me. I am pretty proud of her. So, here is my latest burning!!! Until I get more art done...
