Hey! It's been awhile! This is the first part of a 4 part redesign I'm doing of Nemesis! I'll put my own headcanon below.
The Nemesis Project was started shortly after the success of the mass produced T-00 tyrants. Most of these tyrants needed to have a computer chip implant into there temples in order to respond to orders and to not fly into a rage. The Nemesis Project aimed to alter the current tyrant model to make it not only stronger, but far more intelligent. Umbrella first begun to genetically alter the tyrants. These genetically altered tyrants were either underdeveloped, or mentally unstable. With little hope of success of the program, Umbrella nearly shut it down, until one scientist offered up a suggestion. That suggestion was the NE-a Type parasite. The parasite was a genetically altered hookworm like creature. When administered to T-virus infected humans, it seemed to blistered there intelligence. The problem with mere humans though is that there bodies were not strong enough to undergo the severe mutations of the parasite, so it was suggested to use it on a tyrant. One of the genetically modified tyrants had shown some promise with it's higher brain function and strength, so the parasite was implanted into the creatures brain stem. It began experiencing severe mutations. The tissue around the mouth and nose had rotted away, exposing the nasal cavities and sharpened teeth. From the brain stem and spine, large tendrils had burst out and begun to embed themselves through out the body. Despite these violent mutations, the new Nemesis T Type had incredible intelligence and learning capabilities. Within months, the creature was as skillful as any human soldier, if not more so. The parasite now acted more as a symbiote, giving Nemesis increased speed, strength, and durability. This one man army was soon given the task to kill off the remaining S.T.A.R.S members in Racoon City
