I liked it a lot, it really was an improvement - yet I did not follow the second part ... (for me, this is another story ...)

I think that Mia understands Cynthia's state of mind better than Jon. Cynthia got tired of hearing lies like "You'll get better soon", and "You are appealing in your own way."
Maybe, Mia is one of the few, who told Cynthia honest words, that's why she appreciates her so much.
