A man is frightened by something he sees in the sky while at his job as a construction worker, and has a heart attack. He falls over and spills his coffee. One of his coworkers notices his distress, and without realizing it falls out of the building they are working on. Luckily, his safety harness prevents him from falling from the scaffolding to the ground.
Eight minutes from now it will not matter, as the shockwave will catch up to their planet at that time, and everything will be wiped out.
