I don't think this looks like Master Chief.

Maybe the artist was trying to have the lady's armor design have some resemblance to the Zone Raider's armor fromΒ CommandΒ and Conquer: Kane's Wrath.Β

I daresay more then the suit was inspired by Halo mister. The shotgun bares too close a resemblance to the Halo Shotgun. And so does the assault rifle.

If their armor was this, sometimes I wonder how is it they are losing.

Because in the book, MI was kind of like the Army Rangers as in they weren't a large force. Also the Arachnids had starships and beam weapons that could slice through steel in the book too.

The Halo influence is a bit too self evident. But imitation is good practice, and can be the sincerest form of flattery.
Good job on the detail and lighting, but . . . her lighting is inconsistent to his, unless it is supposed to be from a different source.
So, he's wearing Heavy Infantry armor, and she's wearing Light Infantry armor.
Therefore he will be in whatever front line formation is in use, and she will be everywhere.

a little too Halo-ish
the guy on the left is pretty much out of every Halo picture of the guy standing there. Also his rifle is way too much like the battle rifle
