Description I've recently been able to resume that old project for the Redwall computer game, for a total of about twelve hours work I got the model from 1/4th finished to a whole half... this may not sound like much but if you truly knew the scale of this building and the details/measurements/designs you'd appreciate just how much time I've put into this project...

this Black and white example is how I ensure that this graphics card-chewing model doesn't lag my computer when I work... my new computer's pretty decent and almost top of the range and yet it lags due to the sheer requirement to process all of these measurements and constructions as it has been built full scale, for all intents and purposes most of the four level ceilings are around 4.4 meters high so she's pretty big

For now here's just a two-point shot of the roof... starting to build the outer walls up to the fifth-ish floors and finalizing how to draw all the support columns and archways, it's quite rewarding to walk through even though the second level floor is still in need of layering, meaning that due to the simple physics engine of the program I have to navigate around all the pot holes and incomplete walls. the best part is that when you build stairs right it automatically recognizes them and you can walk up and down them, though if you walk off a ledge you fall down (obviously)... like I said... simple physics engine.

with all BS aside... enjoy...

Oh snap! This is excellent work Aliies! Could you include shots like this of each floor along with the model once you're done? It'd be loads of help!

Thanks once again for your continued dedication! Hope to chat with you soon. (yep, I may just get the internet at home again! see journal entry for un-needed details! lol.)

What program are you using for the mapping? And what engine are you using for the game?

Well I'm not a programmer... I'm just the architect... but Benjy is the man for that and I believe he's building his own engine and using DARK Basic Professional...

well blender is a specific 3d drawing program, I use sketchup in place of CAD as it uses a very similar format, the program may only be a freebie and simple looking but it gets far more professional results! I wish I had Autodesk Architect XD but I dont have a few hundred (or even a thousand) to buy it with... so free software it is.

and yeah I know blender's free too but I dont know how to use it and I cant waste any more time learning new programs, this one works it has the results I want and I know hoe to use it very well thanks for the suggestion though

you wouldn't believe... SO MANY NUMBERS... I never really put much investment into a blueprint with predefined numbers so it sat all in my head for a few months... the reason I stopped before in truth was that If I did any more then I'd crash literally... too much information at once...
