Off Centre is something I can relate
to, for certain. Looked at this for ages
this morning. Has a quality, an "X"
factor, which a lot of your Photographs
have. I'm glad you share them.

Happy Mother's Day.

Thanks for your great comment and the well wishes! Off Center is a type of self-portrait, but I think it's one that many of us can relate to.

LOL Good representation Ali

Personally, i think the whole human race is off-centered

EXCEPT FOR THOSE FEW THAT LIVE IN, AND ARE TOTALLY CONNECTED TO NATURE, AND LIVE WITHIN HER IN PERFECT HARMONY

Well, that lets me out. I can't live that closely to nature in our day and time. Only a very fortunate few have that luxury.

From what i've seen of life, i think most human beings are a little of-center, some more than others

I guess there is a range of normality that we all try to attain to. Strange isn't always bad, as long as it's not harmful, mean, or perverted. I think artists so often have a different view of life, and that puts them sometimes outside the norm of culture. It also gives them the ability to see and create new and interesting works of art, so in that case, it's something to be desired. I can't claim to be artistic, exactly, but I've always swayed to a different beat than those around me.

(is your persective on life slightly offcenter?)

I definitely hear a different beat in life than many people do! I told a friend once that if you tilt your head slightly, just so, you'd get a view of life that is closer to what I see.

kayaksailor In reply to alimuse [2008-05-10 19:08:44 +0000 UTC]

Then you'd fit right into our new home! Almost every electrical outlet, and a few of the light switches, is crooked! It is driving Cait crazy - she keeps wanting to straighten them but they're screwed in slantchwise!!! (We've joked that the electrician must have been talking on a phone when the installations were being done there are other wood trims that are also not plumb but they aren't as obvious) I think she's inherited a bit of her father's OCD or it's all of our preference for order...

alimuse In reply to kayaksailor [2008-05-10 23:04:53 +0000 UTC]

Ha, ha! You gotta love electrician's assistants! Either that, or it was a remodel by the house owners. I think humans naturally have a desire for order unless it gets repressed, but I also believe that OCD is a human condition!

kayaksailor In reply to alimuse [2008-05-10 23:35:55 +0000 UTC]

You hit the nail on the head with the remodel by owners comment - BUT - their 'job' was kitchen and bath remodels so you'd think they'd be more attentive to details than this house shows! Or it was a case of the 'cobblers children being barefoot' and they didn't care so much here...but we do have a very lovely kitchen ('tho inefficient, to me) and good looking bathrooms

alimuse In reply to kayaksailor [2008-05-11 00:03:54 +0000 UTC]

Well, many times we have to make do with the remuddling of others. Our house is the same way. Sometimes, you have to fix it. At other times, you learn to live with it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

kayaksailor In reply to alimuse [2008-05-11 03:57:28 +0000 UTC]

There will be enough to fix...those may stay as a quirk of the house

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

alimuse In reply to kayaksailor [2008-05-11 03:58:48 +0000 UTC]

Yes, that's what we always found. You fix the big stuff and let the little stuff go!

Good luck with that!
