Finally done! I swear I did not get up out of my chair this weekend because I wanted this thing finished. It started off as a simplistic color/light study, but I began to get carried away when I decided to have a Harry Potter marathon while working. Thereβs a ton of sparkly things and smoke in those movies, and thus it sort of transferred over to my painting.I had a whole bunch load of fun with this. Very enchanting! I love the lighting and how so many questions pop into my head. As though she should have some sort of story to go with her! This picture is magic~
Though on a distant, technical side of things, her right arm isn't at the correct angle to connect with her shoulder, and if you're going for a skinny girl (as her face and neck would suggest) it's also too thick. Though I love that hand ^^ Major points for the creative pose <3

I'm glad that the painting spoke to you in such a way. While I was painting her, her eyes were telling me she was a little bit mysterious, full of secrets, and those secrets where hidden somewhere in the whimsical environment that she sits in.

I know, right? With that black smoke behind her, I feel like those lights could be some sort of... crystalized burning embers from a blazing fire nearby. And with the position of her hand - I definitely think she has abilities in this dreamrealm of hers! But she just looks so assured... like she knows both the present and the future - that she's completely unconcerned with the ominous background or what might be coming for her in the dream! She so mysterious but dignified about it xD I loved looking at your Art Improvement Meme! This is definitely a crowning jewel~ ^^
