Description Why is there no fanart section for models or vice versa?

This is a keyring of a plumbob from the Sims series of games. It's the diamond thing that spins above their heads.

Took me about and hour and a half to make from Fimo and is 5.5cm tall, not including the chain. I varnished it and there is also glitter in the Fimo for extra sparkle.

Corners are not easy to create in a soft material. >.<

I bet that would look pretty neat! I remember I had a custom content necklace for TS2 that had a plumbob on it.
Thanks for the favourite.

not sure i'm ready to make it though, corners seem pretty complicated (?)

Yeah, this was my first attempt with corners and they actually turned out softer than I would have liked. It's easier to make them look sharper when the object you are working on has a flat back, like my Sims logo phone charm> fav.me/d5ecxfx
That picture doesn't really show it off very well but the plumbob has got angled faces. Instead of trying to mold the shape I carved the angles out with a stanley knife blade from a rectangular piece of FIMO.

fimo classic? yea i thought of trying it like that

FIMO Soft actually. Classic would be a better idea for this sort of thing though. I just had lots of green in Soft at the time so couldn't see the sense in buying more.

i see!i have fimo soft atm but only because that's the only one i could find =\ everyone seems to say that it' bad

It depends on what you want to create. It's much better than Classic for being able to work with it pretty much straight out of the packet but if you are working with fine details it can get squashed easily.
I still find it much better than the Sculpey I have tried in the past.

really o.o weird, everyone else says sculpey is better...and i saw tests including fingerprints and Fimo seems to be the worst regarding those...  (i'm trying to find some smooth gloves t work with but i just haven't seen any good ones yet...) so i decided to buy sculpey next (except for the skin-colored clay, seems like the Fimo one for dolls is highly-praised)

It could just be personal preference as FIMO is what I have worked with from the very beginning.

I wondered the same thing... I don't understand deviantArt categories.

I think you did a great job, I know how hard corners are. Maybe next time, you could use aluminium foil as filler? I think it makes corners easier

Good idea. I'll have to try that next time I do something similar.

Very cool! I just noticed your comment on my Plumbob Charm photo (I moved accounts, I also moved the photo to my new account just now).

My collection keeps on growing, but I don't have a homemade plumbob yet.

I love it. The USB keyring that came with the special edition of the Sims 3 almost made me want to buy it, but I didn't quite feel like dropping $70.00 on a game that may or may not work on my computer.

I ended up buying a new laptop to play the game! I did actually need one though.

That's great. I ended up buying it at Half-Price Books for only $25. No plumbob flash drive.

Quite a few Sims players don't even know it's called a plumbob. I've also seen it spelt plumbbob and plumb-bob.
