I still use the helpful information from this one to help me with identification. Β

Beautiful! This only works in the Northern Hemisphere of course...
The Australian ravens and crows are most notorious in their..."exceptions".

Haha yeah, I didn't know at the time but I've since had a lot of Aussies come in and talk about their weird corvids.

You ever seen a Kind of Ravens or a Murder of Crows before?

So have I. And it is both an amazing and scary sight to see.

Now this is useful. I knew there were differences but I just didn't know them.

Crows always sound as if they are laughing at me XP

I was on my way out of work, and there's usually a couple of crows hanging around the (rather large) parking lot. I heard this noise that sounded a LOT like a kookaburra. I looked up and there's a crow perched on one of the lampposts and makes that call again. I have never, ever heard a crow or a raven make a noise like that!

Yeah! I wish I'd had time to stop and record, but I was late to work. D:

Incredible as usual. I still get confused and it takes time for my eyes to tell them apart by sight, but that deep croak of the raven is the give away for me. Have memories of time near Joshua Tree State Park with the croak of ravens echoing off the big rocks there in the stillness.

"quoth the raven...EAT MY SHORTS!"Β
Wonderful information. I myself, struggle to remember the difference. I now have a cheat sheet. =3Β

Thanks again. Β Another hole in my knowledge at least partly filled. Β And corvids too - we talked about them before.
Thanks (yet again!)

This is really good. Most people aren't even aware that crows and ravens are two different species. And even if they know, they usually can't tell what's what.
