It's important to note that Ace has a very own depiction of love. Love for him means to care for someone and always be there for them and also protect them. It's only emotional to him. So he defines what he feels for his dear friends, family & kids as love. Not so however sex. For him it isn't an act of love but simply something physical that he used to cope with his situation when he was younger (and he still does so at times) and now has become something he enjoys a bit too much and sees it as some kind of a hobby. It's a hobby for two people, like dancing, but for him there's not really something emotional connected to it.
