Very Nice!
I'd say it lacks a tiny bit of detail, yet that is no real setback for this amazing and quite untraditional artwork. Your play with shapes is just awesome!

Thank you, glad you like it
I do realize it's a bit rough in execution, but still I hope I hit the mark with the sense of captured movements and contrasts for the pic

Very beautiful. It's kind of hard to see the woman at first, but it's definitely gorgeous. I love the black sections and the subtle shadowing.

you have a talent for trans-dimensional expression. it's something that my mind has grappled with, over the years, but my fingers never seem to successfully convey.

alizarin In reply to skulkey [2008-06-12 10:32:01 +0000 UTC]

thanks
what's trans-dimensional expression? (honest, rather stupid question of mine )

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

skulkey In reply to alizarin [2008-06-12 12:55:08 +0000 UTC]

not a stupid question at all. maybe i'm just adding my own interpretation, but it appears that your artwork is not limited by the traditional notions of spacetime - i.e. 3 dimensions of space and one of time. what i see in your work is something i've see in Susan Seddon Buolet's works, they seem to access shamanic states of awareness, or of the dreamtime, where the usual [apparent] laws of physics are withheld. it would seem to be non-deliberate act on your part, but that part of you that is the artist seems to have an intuitive ability to access those spaces and communicate them in imagery. hope that makes some sort of sense...

alizarin In reply to skulkey [2008-06-13 13:10:17 +0000 UTC]

it makes sense, sort of, it's just I usually don't 'think' on what I draw ... ^^
I'm flattered by the comparison btw

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

skulkey In reply to alizarin [2008-06-13 14:55:04 +0000 UTC]

yeah, i figured. like i said, you seem to grasp it intuitively. my work is highly conceptual, on the other hand, and i still can't seem to communicate that sort of thing effectively.

the comparison is highly appropriate - it's part of the reason i like your stuff so much.
