This image is quite visually compelling, as is the title. The fact that it demands our attention, as far as the art of photography is concerned, is particularly interesting. Here is an image that for the most part is blurred and in distinct and it combines B&W imagery with colour. All elements that one might think word work against the image. In this case, however, they are quite affective.

We see the young woman standing out from her surroundings. She appears uncertain about where she is or where she is going. She almost appears to be waiting for someone, looking in every direction. The building in the background would appear to be a cathedral, and given the title of the work this would make sense. The rest of the people in the image appear to know where they are going; they have certainty of action and movement. Many appear to be going in the church.

The framing of this image would suggest that the "Freedom of Faith" depicted here might in fact be the freedom to choose no faith or at the very least to choose a non-institutionalized, mainstream system of faith. I think this is where the colour/b&w contrast comes in; the feeling that to be against the mainstream is to literally stand out from it. More so for some faith communities than others.

This...is beautiful...
The background is amazing, I love the blurred time-slowing-down effect and how the focus is on that one person. It's very beautiful and looks like something you would see in a magazine or on an add for something like either a movie or a TV series.
But really, I love it and when I look at it I just get the vision that everyone feels that way sometimes, that they stand out from the crowd and they're the only one's there at times.
Absolutley beautiful picture and it just remind me of when I'm walking out of school, listening to my music and music is all that's on my mind, not what went wrong that day or what was embarresing about it and for a moment nothing else matters except for what i'm thinking about.
Also the title remind me of a woman who recently passed that I was very close to, and she was a very positive and bright woman, like the one in the picture. Beautiful, and stands out of the crowd.

The woman in the foreground is quite gorgeous and lovely - look at the yellow in her hair! The background is also quite fascinating, although I'm a bit curious as to why it's sort of black to one side. Is it to emphasise her glow? Whilst I don't think the blurriness quite works with the woman, if its a result from the exposure time used to capture the background, the fact that you have minimal blur there is impressive!
