Description You can't spell equality without the u.
Same with struggle, and revolution, too.
So, what are YOU waiting for?!
Make a statement, make a stand for what is just and right.
Understand that whatever might push YOU to the night,
defeat it, to see light once again.
Whether it's skin color, brain power,
relationships with fathers and mothers,
your preferred lover, if your height towers,
all of the above, and any others.

Because you can't affect peers
if you're too afraid to affect yourself.
You can't accomplish dreams
if you leave them collecting dust on the shelf
in the back of your mind.
They're rusting with the time
of each day fleeting past us and not looking behind
to see the past regrets and secrets,
confusions, and diluted exclusions.
Dreamers move ahead and get to the finish line of tomorrow.

So empower people with your words and actions.
Give hope to the people who have fractions of what you have.
Aspire to be the best you can possibly be
without stepping on others or using destructive reactions
because of racial slurs or a painful curse
or something that can hurt even worse.

Look at the strength Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. possessed.
He made a point that he, in fact, had a dream,
just like how each and every one of us has.
A dream that was almost unachievable, inconceivable, and unbelievable
for that day and age.
But, he did it.

Just like how Rosa Parks sat on that bus seat
with the strength and pride of someone
who would never give in to society's lies,
but listened to humanity's cries
for freedom and equality;
to live out the dream
of independence and absence of discrimination's presence.

(THE STANZA I ADDED FOR ETHNIC BAZAAR 2012)
Mahatma Gandhi said,
"Be the change you wish to see in the world."
He looked to the poorest of poor--
the Untouchables, the outcasts with love--
the ones banished from society,
vanished almost entirely,
don't have a future of retiring
from this status of rejection.
But he continued to call them God's children,
and brought compassion to their lives
fashioned out of sighs
expelled from those who are capable of gratitude
and having an open mind.

Yes, you are just one person.
But you have two hands to shape the world
that is placed upon your two shoulders.
You have two legs and two feet
to sprint across the globe yelling and spreading your message.
However, it is no mistake that you have one mouth
along with two eyes and two ears-- to help you hear
and remain humbled through years.
To see the chaos going on today, right here.
To unveil life's passions one hue at a time.
One mouth with one line
and two ears to hear this dream of mine.

There will be beams of smiles that go on for miles,
Acceptance is shown from an adult to their child.
And vice versa, all the while, taking the vile
of the irrational denial of ignorance away.
Ending racism, sexism,
raising optimism for this mannerism
of accomplishment.
Establishment of the principle
that we are indeed all organisms.
We each have a heart, brain,
and some sort of rationalism.
And you'd think people would take the common sense
to make a difference.

Well, today you can.
Go make a difference and go gain respect.
Because just your presence in a room
can have an uplifting effect.
And once you're in the world,
displaying that passion and fire,
you have no idea who else
you can also inspire.
