Description I'll get a better picture soon i promise, probably over Spring Break or something. I have wanted an Alice in Wonderland dress for soooo long its not even funny. I even had the pieces cut out more than a year ago in hopes of getting it done but it kinda got pushed to the side due to other projects and portfolio work. With the impending release of the Tim Burton movie and getting more sewing experience I finally got it totgether to finish the dress and apron to wear at long last. Did you know that I got into college because I wrote a paper about Alice in Wonderland? And that my grandmother couldn't pronounce Alex so she'd say Alice?

Anyways, the dress is made from alightweight peachskin twill lined in quilter's cotton at the bodice. To create the floof I made an innersleeve to hold the construction of the outersleeve and puffed the shoulders with organza which didn't work too well and stuffed the bottom with tulle/netting I had lying around. The skirt is a full circle skirt pattern I got froma gypsy/bellydance pattern. The apron is a Sew and Save McCalls pattern made from a bedsheet I had lying around. The wig I got from Arda wigs but it was really thin in fiber and it needs more so I'm using another wig and taking the fiber from that one to add to this wig. I even have the numerous floofy petticoats that I made too. And to get the stark white for the stockings I am wearing thigh high white stockings underneat opaque white pantyhose for that full effect.

I have to make some bloomers to go underneath the dress with white ruffles at the knees to use for this dress, the Tim Burton Alice dress and Giselle. The Tim Burton Alice dress I will have made I swear! This dress is one of my new favorites and when i wore it people thought I was the legit Alice in Wonderland from Disney. I even studied her mannerisms, movement, accent and dance to get her right.
