I like this, but I agree with 'massdestructer'. Now to get the BUG to agree to this! It still stands out, and gets your attention. I love all of your pics. Very imaginative and somewhat creepy, seeing as how they are bugs. There-in lies their appeal!

Wow Alliec, I am really really impressed by this photo, so much so that I wanted to give it a critique... But, unfortunately I don't have a subscription, so I'll just have to tell you what I think via this comment.

Firstly, I think the context of this photo really makes it stand out against some of the other work in your gallery -we can see the animal just hanging out in it's own environment which I think is fantastic ( not to knock your other pieces that don't show that though, because they have their own merits as well). I think this adds a lot to the documentative aspect of the shot.

To add to this, you've still managed to capture that amazing detail that is so trademarked by the rest of your gallery -and in this shot it has been done spectacularly since there is such little colour contrast between the spider and the flower it is perched upon.

As well as all of that, this shot can't have been easy to get -as a biologist I know that these guys have to ability to move so quickly, they're there one second and gone the next, so well done on the developing the ability and patience to get such an amazing shot!

Great subject, I wished the spider was on a different color flower, because the spider blends into the background a little too much.

Thank you. These spiders rely on camouflage to catch their meals. They will sit and wait for an insect to land on the flower and then grab it. Hence why its on a white flower.
