Mermay prompt 7 - Steampunk ⚙️Details, details, details, but fun details! 😄
I based this one on one of my many OCs, Kelsie. She's from a city where mashines have taken over almost every job, so she felt pretty fitting (and I hadn't drawn her in a while). I didn't take the story beyond the initial idea cuz I had no idea how to resolve it.

Fun fact: The first recorded steam engine goes as far back as the 1st century Roman Egypt. However, it is said that they didn't focus on it's development or use because manpower (like slaves) were cheaper at the time. The contraption didn't really take off until the 1600s.
(Ironic, considering that more and more positions are being filled by cheaper and more precise machines)
