Definitely had a good time painting this, and I think I learned a lot. I used to think that detail was the key to becoming a better artist until I started seeing how artists can achieve so much more with so much less. I'm trying to do that a lot more. That can be the moral of the story with this piece! I encourage any artist out there to experiment with simplicity, to whatever degree you like. Saves you time, too. (Although super-detailed things are great too, if that's your thing.)
