Had to revisit one of my favourite Emma Frost pieces as well as my favourite piece by you. As many others have said, your skill with copics is just amazing. I don't know how you did it since traditional media tends to terrify me but wow. Also love the white space.
And as for Emma herself, you have the right mix of bitch and 'better than thou' but still beautiful and classy which is Emma's default attitude. Love seeing her portrayed that way

great use of the negative space. We all know Emma is a sexy character but I love that you didnt draw her dropping trou or bending over. Very cook concept

Please, do not look at my gallery...shame...lol...but i'm trying hard to improve...and some day i could draw and color like you....such a inspiration, really!!!!

I really love that, that's an awesome to use blend the white parts with the background ! And we are able to easily draw the missing lines ! That's a great job !

I have a question : Do you use color pencils ? Because I can see some kind of dots, but I don't where it comes from. Maybe the paper...

AllisonSohn In reply to SL1Cer [2009-06-03 02:32:46 +0000 UTC]

no this is marker; perhaps you are seeing streaks?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SL1Cer In reply to AllisonSohn [2009-06-06 17:02:40 +0000 UTC]

I don't really know how to say it. I see some kinds of "dots". It looks like they are coming from the little natural "bumps" on the paper, but I'm not sure.

Actually I really like it. It adds a little bit more of texture to fight against the pure white areas.

Amazing work.

Oddly enough I had a similar idea to this to draw a woman and blend in her white clothes with an all white background. Never got around to ever doing it.
Though I'm quite sure you do it better here then I could of done.
I find some of the artists who draw her now try and make her look skanky. This has a very elegant feel. Very classic pinup dolls.
You did killer work on her muscle tone and to still keep her looking soft and feminine. That's a tough balance.

She's one of my favorite Marvel characters. I just recently start posting some images of her in my gallery. I'm going for a romantic theme with the images.

I think the key is that her body can look whorish, but her eyes have to maintain a sort of "better than thou" snobbery. The two seem to cancel each other out, and leave a sort of sexy elegance.

I think that too many people seem to get this image of her as a Pamela Anderson type blond, or they paint her face up too much.
I agree with you on her eyes. That's what I tried to put forth in my Emma Frost drawing I posted recently. I wanted her face to give off a 'roud' expression.

I really like the way it makes you want to look at it over and over. This might sound odd, but it reminds me of a puzzle LOL, you know, with missing parts, in a good way though

I idolized your pin ups when I was a teenager, wanting to draw comic babes. For you to say that to me is a great honor. Can we get back to the part where we just travel together with out friends, drink alot and tell dirty jokes?
