The apprentice was eager to meet her mentor. She was supposed to be 8 moons old, and she should not be so excited to have a mentor. That was not the true case, however. At only 5 moons, she had never once had a mentor before, nor should she. But a lie of her mother's in order to protect her last daughter had stuck, and so a moon earlier than she should, she was becoming an apprentice.

Stepping and reaching up to touch her new mentor's nose, she found her mentor, ironically, scowling. She supposed he wasn't too thrilled to have a tiny apprentice, and she even had to stretch to reach him, almost on her tip toes. But she was "eight" moons old, and as such, she would be as mature as she could.
