Description I saw Jurassic World Dominion just two days after it's released date and I decided to wait a little longer to post a full review.  I was originally going to post this on Sunday but it was Father's Day at the time and thought it would be better to post it on Fallen Kingdom's 4th anniversary.  Hold on to your butts because this is going to be another long review.

So my honest thoughts on the film is that it was a marvelous joy ride and the best film in the World Trilogy!  I do not understand all the hate everyone has been giving it since I liked A lot of the concepts that it showed and I thought Colin Trevorrow did a fantastic job to make this film a good conclusion.

All the characters were incredible and the actors did a fantastic job with their roles.  Chris Pratt is still badass as Owen Grady.  Bryce Dallas Howard is still great as Claire.  Despite having less screen-time, it was fun to see Zia, Franklin, and Barry again.  The OG cast however steal the show.  Jeff Goldblum still did a phenomenal job as Ian Malcom and the return of Laura Dern as Ellie Sattler and Sam Neill as Alan Grant brought tears to my eyes the moment they showed up.  Even in terms of age, these 3 characters still felt the same from the Park Trilogy.

I am so glad Henry Wu was given a redemption arc as he is determined to fix a mistake.  Maisie also was done much better in this film as she went through great character development and couldn't be more happy for her since she accepts who she truly is.  Lewis Dodgson was a great choice for the villain of this film as well and Campbell Scott playing him definitely delivered.  Kayla Watts and Ramsey Coles were pretty good as well.

I happen to find the Locust plot a great way to add even further stakes to the film and it felt like a something Michael Crichton would write himself.  Nice, simple and quite new so it wouldn’t feel like a copy of the other film’s plot’s.

The cinematography looked the best in the trilogy and the score by Michael Giacchino is fantastic to listen to.

As for the Dinosaurs themselves, they all looked and were portrayed amazingly with good use of the animatronics and CGI.  The Giganotosaurus may not have been the so called "Joker" that Colin said it would be but I still got goosebumps every-time it appeared and I see it more as a predator with high anger issues towards anything it see's as either a threat or food.  The Therizinosaurus became my third favorite herbivore after seeing it in action, the Atrociraptor's were vicious, the Pyraptor was badass, Microceratus, Moros Intrepidus and Leonard the Lystrosaurus were adorable, Dreadnaughtus was truly a giant among giants, the Dimetrodon's were horrifying and it was awesome to see Quetzalcoatlus make it's big screen debut.

The Dinosaurs from previous films that returned filled my heart with joy when they appeared too.  Despite getting minor roles, Rexy, Blue and the Mosasaurus are still great as ever.  Beta is the cutest baby raptor ever and I'm glad the gang was able to rescue her to reunite with her mother.  The Allosaurus and Carnotaurus scenes were insane and fan favorite Dilophosaurus was still terrifying yet awesome especially when a group of them are the ones who kill Dodgson when he tried to escape.  Finally, I jumped in joy when Buck and Doe finally met Rexy in the end despite Junior not making an appearance (Though it's possible he left them once he grew up).  I'm honestly not mad Spinosaurus didn't show up (Still would've been nice to give him at least a cameo).

The action scenes have to be the most action packed moments I’ve ever seen in any dinosaur film.  Owen wrangling a herd of Parasaurolophus gave me Valley Of Gwangi vibes. The Malta scene is my favorite in the whole film with one of the Poachers given a very brutal death and an intense chase sequence with the Atrociraptors.  The Final Battle with Rexy and Therizino against Giga may not be the best but I still enjoyed it and Giga's brutal death brought back memories of Dinosaur Revolution (Specifically the same way Stumpy and Tinkerbelle killed Jack).

The problems that I do have with this movie are only a few nitpicks but some I can't help but dislike.  The first act went a little bit too fast and the third act needed a few more scenes added in since I thought it felt a little incomplete.  The Prologue should have been the opening for the movie and it would have helped out with Rexy and Giga's rivalry in the present.  Dodgson's death should've been after the final battle because him dying before the battle honestly felt a bit weird.  Finally, there are some dinosaurs that I really wish were given more screen time since many of them just appear either once or twice and not seen ever again.  Hopefully the DVD extended edition will fix these problems.

To wrap up this review, Dominion has officially replaced Fallen Kingdom as my most favorite Jurassic sequel and the 2nd best film in the franchise because nothing of course will ever top the first movie.  The ending with dinosaurs and modern animals living side by side leaves so many windows open for the next story and that's what get's me excited on where the franchise will go now.  Despite the flaws that I said previously, I still think this was a good enough end to the world trilogy and IMO it's so far the 2nd best film this year (Right below The Batman).  9.4/10, Would watch it again.
