f, b, 2b, 6b and 8b pencils. I have no idea how long it took. I did use the little eraser tool in photoshop to get the two circles of light in her eyes really bright and white. and also used photoshop to get rid of the little marks my scanner leaves. I also left the mole out. I think if I had included it that it would have looked more like her but I chose not to draw it.hope you like. favorites are always appreciated.

the best way to make the skin look smooth is to avoid soft pencils (b pencils). it might seem contradictory b/c they blend well but they also are hard to manipulate into looking even toned. so the best pencil to use is an h or an f. and this takes a lot of patience but is worth it: you want to very lightly shade over the whole surface of the skin in an even manner (I know it takes awhile!) and then when you're done use some t.p. to blend it, again trying to do this as evenly as possible. after this you can add in the shadows and contours and stuff, even using softer pencils as necessary to get those effects. they will look much better b/c you've laid down your foundation.

I love it and her, but for some constructive criticism I'd say that that the mouth is a bit off. If you look at where the space is between her front two teeth it should line up with the center of the bottom of her nose(implying that the rules of perspective still play a roll), but its only slightly off. Good Job overall!

ha ya that stinks and i know because I've had the same thing happen to me but the good thing is is that its not that far off and anyone can obviously tell who this is by the portrait so you know u did a good job.
