We fear the trees because of their purity.
They are of Earth only, where as we humans are also of some else... something that came from the coldest, darkest, emptiest place in all cosmos, outer space.

alien magick, twisting our weak, doomed little minds into conduits for demonforce. Thus did we receive the power which now allows us to rape our motherworld: the Heart of Darkness. We were given this horrible power because these aliens had to defend themselves from a mighty hero: Earth.

Earth had been developing a new kind of animal... one with which she could answer a call for help from far away. Earth created the homonid Heidelbergensis, and then split Heidelbergensis into two groups: Those with powerful brains(Neanderthals), and those with weak brains(Humans). We the humans were meant by Earth to die out. we were not intelligent enough to set traps and make effective weapons, and our bodies were(and actually still are) quite fragile and not very strong.

the Neanderthals were meant to survive until sometime probably a little bit later than the present day, at which point they would have civilization and technology light years beyond what humanity has achieved. they would then be able to set out in their spacecrafts to slay the demon, to fulfill the purpose of their existence, their destiny. instead, we were re-programmed as soon as we split up from the Neanderthals.

Something came down from on high, from the freezing blackness of the eternal night that exists beyond this blue roof which protects us. something made us into a sort of immortal, invincible parasitic plague. from the dawn of humanity, we have caused extinctions wherever we went, and consumed far too much resources, and multiplied uncontrollably. we are made to kill this world. that is why I fear the trees. because I cannot understand why they wouldn't hate a human. if those branches were hands, they would surely strangle me.

I always try to get these types of shots since I like to shoot in the winter more often than not but I never can get this kind of feel which I do want.... you nailed it
