The war changed all without exception. My father-in-law immediately volunteered but his
asthma kept him out of combat. He served the Army/Air force in Albuquerque New Mexico
teaching truck driving in the mountains. Of course income was low and Frances took a job
at a local gas station, no kids yet. I think Frances could have run against Nancy Pelosi
in the Miss Lube Rack Pageant except an awful lot of years difference in age.
