Jax went away for two years to join the military, and she grew a lot during those two years. 10" maybe? So, anyway, you can't see it, but Gerard has to stand on her toes just to kiss her beloved (thieving, if you asked Tony) boyfriend (because Jax considers herself a man as much as Gerard considers himself/herself a woman).

"Hey, I left a present for you at the door. Go see if it's there." Jax said to Momma over the phone, smiling to herself. "Would you?"
"Fine." She seemed to sigh heavily over the phone.
Gerard opened the door, and Jax hugged her right away. Gerard tensed, but didn't let Jax pull away when she tried. Gerard held Jax's arms, standing on her tippy-toes, and smiled, closing her eyes. "My God, I hate you."
"Aw, Momma. That is the sweetest thing you've ever-" Jax's cooing got cut off as Gerad pressed her lips against Jax's. "MM-!"

(Dammit, why do I feel like Gerard's face is fucked up?)
