In PS go to select menu> Color range> Select the Green in the drop down menu> Ok> Then Erase the green parts by eraser (Cuz it seems like Ctrl+X doesn't effectively remove the green...)

The technique are the same within Photoshop or Gimp
Just do 'Color Range'
