Before being known as Divebomb Portia worked as a catburglar stealing industrial secrets under the aliaa Powerglide. This could very easily be her back in those days, before she refined the wingpack to its current sleek design.
Earlier than that she went under the name Swoop, and if you know the significance of those names...

Transformers. One of the Dinobots was called Swoop, but there was a story in the UK Marvel comic series which revealed he'd once been called Divebomb but when he was beaten in combat by an unknown Deception the Decepticon stole his name and later joined the Predacons.
The two of them faced each other again on Earth but with no clear winner after the other Dinobots and Predacons joined in the fight.
Powerglide was also a Transformer, an Autobat plane, but I chose that name just cos it sounded nice.

so was that Swoop name a reference to that time Meltdown (I think it was) took her place?

Not really. The name change happened well before that and marked the point in her career where she stopped being a thief and murdered someone for the first time. After that she became darker and so changed her name from Swoop (who as an Autobot was a good guy) to Divebomb (a Predacon bad guy).
