Description FROM THE LOG OF DR. MICHAEL CHEN

Of all of them, I hated this one the most. Sara Johnson, the prodigal.

To understand my loathing for her one must understand her past. WWII had such horrors, but within those horrors miracles spring forth Sara's great grandfather was the first of them.

Dark Lightning, they called him. Of course he wore a full faced masked because America at that time would not be able to deal with it's first superhuman...be a colored man. I remember looking at my father's pictures of him, even in black and white the gold trim on his solid black uniform seemed to glow.

Yet after the war, things weren't so good. Uncle Sam decided to do away with their pardon the pun, 'dark' secret and he spent years literally and figuratively on the run. I almost find it humerous that in the end it wasn't the great American goverment that killed him, no...they tried, but in the end it was his sense of self sacrifice and rascism that did him in.

He died saving his family when the KKK burned his house down one night as they rested. After saving Sara's grandfather, he put his family in their modest automobile and told them to drive and not look back. He thought he could fend off the rednecks by himself and if not for the amount of smoke he had inhaled or the burns he had recieved he might have...he might have.

Uncle Sam, in the end did right by him. The took his body down from that noose and gave him a heroes funeral. None of his children exhibted any of their father's powers and so the goverment left them alone. Yet my father knew better and he kept an eye on the family.

She was fourteen years old being when I first saw her manifest her abilities. Oh she wasn't nearly as fast as her grandfather but being chased by some older girls because of her smart mouth I clocked her going nearly a half a second faster than the current world record in the 100 meter dash and that was after the first quarter mile...in heels no less.

You'd think that with all that speed she'd join the track team or something...but not miss popular, no time for that. She lucked out and ended up getting a career in modeling, one of the world's top twenty, yet all that potential...wasted and beyond my own motivations, for that sin alone she should pay...

I really, really like that text story more than anything.
That's kinda considered "radical", ya' know.
Whatever the hell that really means.
But, Is that it?
Did you ever render an image of "Dark Lightning" here? I'm interested in his "past exploits", yes... and how relevant to today it is.
