Yet someone tried to blackmail the Markov's and kidnapped her and her older brother Brian. Rescued by Batman both siblings walked away from the experiance with Earth based powers. Yet while Brian wanted to stay home and run the family company....Tara wanted adventure.

For months she had disappeared until she appeared in New York. The HIVE was attacking and Tara using the code named Terra came just in time to help the Titans.

She didn't want to join but Mythic (Beast Boy) convinced her that she could find her place in the world with the team.
