-"Mírate, Josefina! Mira aquí! Te pareces de una Princesa verdadera! Sí!?"-

-"Mentiroso."-

I have this sad headcanon that after Josefina burned, for a great many years, as soon as his first major cartel-bucks started rolling in without the support his father, Raul pretty much gave it his all to try and make her feel beautiful again in whichever way he possibly could, feeling somewhat guilty that he got to remain physically unmarred (some would even say, incredibly handsome) while she had to stay disfigured for the rest of her life in an unfair flash of events which he couldn't change for the better or have their places swapped out and be the one who suffers - using his material possessions to strengthen his emotional support over his sister - including showering her with an array of wonderful clothes, flower-crowns, gems, ornaments, jewelry, wigs, masks, toys, dolls, makeup, any gorgeous, shiny thing his laundered drug money could buy at the time - anything he'd believe would help her cope with her current situation if only just a little and assist her ease her bitter tantrums which most notably included her crying and breaking mirrors and pretty much any and every reflective piece of surface in her path within the confines of her secure, gilded little cage where nobody could judge or taunt her for her appearance. When that wouldn't fly, he'd try words. The verbal approach. He was aware that she could barely even see her own face at this point due to her lids being permanently deformed shut after the tragic incident at the warehouse, but even so, he'd comfort her often, stubbornly and with a lot of dedication and while Josefina certainly didn't feel very lovely anymore and gave up on attempting to rectify that fact, Raul probably believed truly was deep down regardless - even when she called him a blind fool for it, ironically enough. After all, the way he saw it back then - God values all his children equally and they're all glorious to Him in the long run - Josefina, no less then the rest of them. She was far from ugly in Raul's eyes. For that reason above all others, despite of finding it somewhat annoying and unnecessary to be pampered, pitied and doted upon like a broken, sad piece of property, Raul was the only person she could be at ease with from that point on, outside the begrudging, necessary tolerance she showed her nurses, caretakers and doctors. It remained that way until the very end of her days.
