Description

Continuing my monochrome series of paintings of the Toho Big 5, it's King Ghidorah, the three-headed monster! Naturally, I went for a "gold" motif, using browns and a yellow. The only two paint colors that have been consistently used across all four (and eventually 5) are black and white.

I did kinda cheat a little, since these paintings were meant to evoke the debut of each monster. The background somewhat evokes the scene from GODZILLA VS MONSTER ZERO (1965) on Planet X, with Jupiter looming above. Hell, I'll admit I looked at a pic to capture the feel of seeing the planet's crescent sweeping across the sky (in some pics, it almost looks like a stream of fire). However, I intended it to be prior to his arrival to Earth; it's just to convey his celestial origin.
