I'm guessing (and this is just my amateur opinion), that you used a slow shutter speed? I don't know, the lights only twinkle like that with me when I'm using a very slow shutter speed.

Thanks for the great feedback. The shutter speed was not too long, between 1 sec and 8 sec. You get different flares with different lenses as this depends on the amount of blades that make up the aperture within the lens. Thanks again.

i am asking myself how you did it that no car is visible? is it a photoretouche or a photomontage? otherwise the picture is very amazing.

Thanks for the great feedback. Two reasons why the streets are so quiet. 1/ it is Ramadan at the moment, so soon as the sun goes down, everyone is at home busy eating. 2/ During summer, most people travel to get away from the heat, some families go for 3 months, so Dubai nearly halves it's population. There were a few cars, but managed to get a few shots with none. Take care.
