Description I was amazed how my Canon 5D kept the noise down on this shot. Smooth as silk. I shot it at 3.30am on a 30sec exposure. the dunes were lit up by the highway to the left and the glow on the horizon is Dubai. This shot came straight out of the camera, no retouching.

I have a similar shot taken in the Sahara on my 30D... worked quite nicely.

Are you using the 16-35 L here?

Ah yeah, same as me. It's great. I'd have to sway more towards the 100-400 for best lens though, can't beat that one for what it does!

wow..beautiful time exposure you got here. Love the colors.....and that 5D picks up incredible detail in the shadows....I know cuz I have one too! Awesome shot...Fave fosho.

excellent!!.... a very solemn scene with the lone tree, i like that feel very much. and at 3:30 am?!?, i respect this shot even more! it's amazing to see the 5D at work, such an amazing piece of equipment.
