Description I consider this one my first successfull star trail photo.

I used the digital way of making star trails.

details here:
[link]

the exposue is about 3 hours and I used Nikkor 10.5 fisheye on my previous camera (Nikon D200).

the tent on the foreground was only illuminated during the first 30 sec of the exposure.

Around 360 of 30-seconds photos were merged using StarTrails 1.0 software to generate this long exposure.

Because I used JPEG, the quality is not upto the level.

Desert next to Okair beach, Al Ahsaa, Saudi Arabia.

A program has been made that does all the work for you.

It's called StarTrails.exe.

It can be found here: [link]

I acutally used the same program to combine the photos which produced this one.

thanks again.

Very well done, especially considering this is your first successful star trail photograph. The composition is beautiful thanks to the illuminated tent, and the light is also brilliant. To put it short, it's one of the best star trail photos I've ever seen, and probably ever will see. Good work, man.

I admire your ability to excel in so many forms of photography. You nail every category you try. Keep up the good work.

Great pic, but:

Around 360 of 30-seconds photos were merged using StarTrails 1.0 software to generate this long exposure.

Why not simple use your cameras bulb mode?

Thanks.

this is to reduce the noise as digital sensors can not perform as good as film in long exposures.

this is beautiful, i'm surprised you don't have more views. it's the first star trail on dA I've seen that has a tent as apposed to a tree, rock, etc. I like the tent because it lets the viewer feel how it must have been camping out in the desert. nice job.
